William Regal is a lovely guest and a treat to have on the podcast, and you can clearly hear the joy in Pip's voice when the two get to speaking. Those who are familiar will know about his character and his long road within the wrestling ring and outside it, and here you get a front row chance to hear about everything - the character choices and how he formulated the person you see up there, his original desires to be a wrestler, comedian or clown, Blackpool roots, analogies to the 'bad guy' characters in comedy, how to work with crowds, being a pro, doing the work, and retaining a humble but proud and highly skilled presence in and out of that ring. It will definitely appeal to anyone in the creative arts, as there are elements of which we all share and find common ground on. Some valuable meditations on time and being a grown adult too, which we can all benefit from. Lovely stuff for both wrestling addicts and those who are a clean slate!
