Episode 16.

Exercising Godliness.

It's profitable for all things!

Today there is so much emphasis on physical exercise, ( the health and wellness industry is a billon dollar industry ).

It a great thing that more and more people are wanting to improve their health.

I truly believe in being diligent in our health is important, so that we can have the energy and strength to serve the Lord and our fellow man. For the apostle Paul said that bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things. 1 Tim 4:8

So godliness that is profitable for all things (which would include your physical health), is where is need to give our attention to.

The apostle Peter said to the saints (us) that we are to be diligent to add to our faith virtue, knowledge, self control, perseverance (patience), godliness, brotherly kindness, love. And if we do these things we will never stumble. 1 Peter 1:5-7,10.

** So the question is** 'WHAT IS GODLINESS'

If it is not virtue or knowledge or self control or perseverance or brotherly kindness or love, then what is it.

We need to know what this is that is profitable for all things. So that we can walk in all the fullness of God.

As we look at the life of Jesus we see that He was very godly, also we can see from the apostle Paul his godliness.

Both of them showed the example that we are to follow. The Lord Jesus said that those who believed in Him would do the works that He did. (those who would receive the Holy Spirit).

The apostle Paul said imitate me as I imitate Christ. The way to do this is by living and walking in godliness.

So in this episode I explain what is godliness and how to walk in it, giving examples from the Lord Jesus, the apostles Paul and Peter and examples from my own life and that of my family.

Some of the things I speak on..

  • Reading from 1 Timothy 4 and 2 Peter 1 (1:37)

  • What is godliness - The example from Jesus. (5:40)

If you want to be like Jesus, (bearing fruit) then we must follow His example.

  • What did Jesus say to those who want to be disciples (9:40)

  • An example from my own family. - God reconciles through godliness. (12:23)

  • What does the apostle Paul say about his life of godliness. (13:56)

  • What Paul says to us, how we are to live. (18:39)

  • We have the ability to live godly. (25:01)

  • Paul said that godliness is profitable for all things. That would include your physical health. See what Solomon said in Proverbs. (26:32)

  • How do we do this? - 2 things we must be diligent in.(28:13)

  • A testimony from my life concerning my health - conseccrate your body to God. (29:41)

  • God will use you in the miraculous when you obey Him. (33:23)

Plus more...
