Interview with David Markey (David Snead Ukraine Missions #013)
Manage episode 337518764 series 3382511
Today I'm interviewing David Markey. He and his wife, Deborah, are missionaries to Yamal, a peninsula in northwestern Siberia. If you're connected to Calvary Chapel and live anywhere either in the Midwest of the US or Central and Eastern Europe, the first thing you think of when you hear the name "Markey" is missions. George Markey, the first Calvary Chapel pastor in Ukraine and David Markey's dad, is one of my heroes.
In this interview, David talks about his journey from being an NCAA division-one basketball player to becoming a missionary in a place whose name literally translates to "the End of the World." David and Deborah live near and serve in little towns that are best reached by snowmobile or via a "river highway." Their main ministry is church planting among indigenous peoples there, like the Nenets.

In this interview, we talked about a biography of David's father, George.
