Summary: Even in the stale, unmoving air, Lan Zhan’s lingering scent still reaches Wei Ying on the bed. She presses her thighs together and rolls over to bury her sweaty, overheated face in the bedding, then lets out a loud, pained groan. This is becoming a problem—the way Wei Ying reacts to Lan Zhan’s closeness, her scent, the play of lean muscle under her skin in a fight. If Wei Ying is being completely honest with herself, it’s been a problem for a good while, and it only gets worse with each night hunt they partner up for, each invitation to get lunch or boba, because Wei Ying knows that Lan Zhan likes girls, but it’s very hard to imagine that she would like Wei Ying.
Trapped in a sweltering hotel room while out on a night hunt, Wei Ying can't fall asleep. Lan Zhan offers a helping hand.
