Hey, welcome to an episode of Crippled by Culture, where we talk about everything in life and relate it to the disabled and chronically ill community. My name is Sean Gold and I am an author, advocate, and nonverbal public speaker for the disability community.

Today I would like to thank Adam Ross for being my voice in this episode. In this episode, we are talking about the intersections of disability, The medical system, Black pain, and community organizing.

Guest Bio: Dr. Punch loves to heal. Educated in medicine at the University of Connecticut and trained in surgery at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, this desire to heal has brought to life a career with a three-fold focus: education, trauma, and healing. Moving to Ferguson post-Ferguson, he collaborated with numerous stakeholders to create “The T”, a community of health promoting holistic healing from trauma related to bullet injuries and overdose in St. Louis. The T transforms healthcare delivery through education and anti-racist, relationship-based education, engagement, and direct care. This includes the creation of The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) and The KEY, a harm reduction program with a focus on overdose risk, both centering the experience of Black men because #BlackPainMatters.
