About Simon Townsend
As EMEA Field CTO, Simon’s primary role is to interface with customers, partners and ControlUp’s own sales, marketing and development teams to help both ControlUp and its customers navigate through an ever transforming market. Having spent 5 years prior to joining ControlUp as IGELs Chief Marketing Officer and with 20 years’ experience in the end-user computing market, Simon has helped manage marketing, product marketing, product management and Global Systems Engineering for several enterprise software companies. Prior to IGEL, Simon was at Ivanti where he was Chief Technologist and a member of the Office of the CTO. A frequent industry speaker, author and visionary on industry topics related to endpoint security, VDI, Citrix, Windows and DaaS. He holds a bachelor’s degree in IT and business.

About Douglas A. Brown

Douglas Brown is the VP of Community at ControlUp, where he plays a pivotal role in invigorating the company's customer and partner base. His responsibilities include cultivating and expanding the ControlUp Community.
As VP of Community at IGEL, Douglas Brown grew their community to 9,000 members with 330,000 messages, led the VIP Program with 45 experts, managed Technical Publications, and was the Global Technology Evangelist.
With 25+ years in virtualization and cloud computing, Doug Brown founded DABCC, Inc., a pioneering and top-visited EUC website.
Doug was honored as Citrix's SE of the Year in 2002, received the Microsoft MVP award from 2005 to 2016, and earned the Citrix CTP and VMware vEXPERT titles. A regular speaker at industry events, he has been an active author for two decades.
Mr. Brown was awarded a US Patent relating to "social content management," US#8903912.
Mr. Brown hosted the #1-rated EUC podcast show, DABCC Radio.
