toqʷanən | Dillon Johnson

Dillon was born and bred here in Tla’amin territory, and moved back home with his young family in 2019 after attending university and building a career in Vancouver.

Dillon is passionate about First Nations reclaiming their governance and well-being within their homelands. He has been providing community, economic and financial planning advice to First Nations communities for 15 years as a consultant. Dillon has concurrently been an elected leader for the Tla’amin Nation, where he is serving his fourth term as a member of the Executive Council. He proudly carries a Tla’amin name, toqʷanən (toh-kwon-non), which is a former village site in Tla’amin territory also known as Theodosia. He is an MBA graduate from UWO and has a BCom from UVic. Dillon also holds the Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation from AFOA Canada, and he serves as the Vice-Chair of the First Nations Financial Management Board.
