Billy McGuinness from Aslan joins More than 90 Minutes Editor, Andrew Milne on the Celtic Soul Podcast. Billy gives an update on Christy Dignam and Aslan’s plans. While looking back at the bands highs and lows over the past 40 years.

Back in 80’s Ireland was a great place for music as record companies searched for the next U2. Unemployment was high as young adults were forced to emigrate these shores and both Billy and Andrew look back with fond memories at the 1980’s Irish Music Scene and iconic venues like the Baggot Inn, Dublin and the Boxing Club in Drogheda.

Aslan’s rise and fall and rise again are discussed and Billy also takes us down memory lane to his young days at school and serving his time as a baker. Its amazing how buns from the bakery played a part in Billy getting into the band.

The band are no strangers to Glasgow having played the famous Barrowlands and the Classic Grand. They attended the Celtic Player of the Year awards after the game v the Rangers last season. They also supported Glasgow’s Gerry Cinnamon in Malahide Castle in the Summer opening up a new audience for the band.
