A group of more than forty men make a pact to assassinate Paul, binding themselves by an oath of starvation until they succeed. Dr. John reflects on the historical roots of political assassinations and the shocking determination of these conspirators. Amidst the plot, Paul receives a vision from the Lord, assuring him he will bear witness in Rome. Through it all, we witness God's sovereignty and His plans prevailing over human schemes.

Persecution cannot suppress the power of the Gospel. For most, imprisonment for the sake of the gospel is not a fear. But, we can face pressure to conform and hostility meant to silence us. May the lessons of Acts 21-24 make us bold as we carry His Gospel today.
