Work and Life locked in the house
To stay safe and operate remotely
Life fell down, losing its balance
And work went tumbling shortly.
Major relate? Us too!
Terms like Work-Life Balance are casually thrown around in the present times and yes, there are multiple studies that show how it has gone for a toss but is it so? In a time when work can be office work, household work, or pursuing a hobby while Life could mean sleeping, browsing, surfing, socialising, relationships, and what not- do these studies take the non-ideal millennial life into account or are still stuck in the 9-5 era? If it is the latter, isn't it a fallacy on our part to stress ourselves out with the thought of a sense of imbalance?
If you thought this episode was about two young women complaining about how work is too much, zoom fatigue, additional chores, bad internet, etc. then yes! you are right but only partially. Rytasha & Ayushi also discuss how work-life balance is a very undefined term for what constitutes the present-day meaning of these terms and help us deconstruct the same idea that has been rammed into our heads for quite some time now. So whether you are working with excel sheets/ flour and baking powder/ wax and moulds/ case files and journals/ Stethoscopes and pills/ mics and guitars/ lights and cameras/ or even IMPORTED SNEAKERS; You do You and define what your work and life mean to you and live both to the fullest and as much in equilibrium as possible in Your capacity.
