Coumba Gawlo Seck is a globally recognized singer, griot and philanthropist who put her life and voice at service for the African causes. With more than 10 albums on her own, Gawlo is extremely committed to the cause of women and children.
She started singing at 14. Some of her most awarded songs in gold and platinum records are: Yo Malé, Pata Pata, Miniyamba, Sa Li Sa Léé. er earliest produced were Ibrahima Sylla and Patrick Bruel. She sings in acoustics, in traditional and modern Senegalese music in addition to the Mbalax.
In 1998, his album Yo Malé earned a double gold record in Belgium and a double platinum record in France. In 1999, her cover of Myriam Makeba's Pata Pata hit summer hits in France and across Europe was also a platinum record.
At the Koras Awards Pata Pata is awarded with the Best Female Hope in African Music. In 2001, at the koras Awards, her album Sa Lii - Sa Léé sacred Best African Female Artist, and Best West African Artist.
In 2002 she became godmother of the HCNU for the refugees. 2016 is the first Senegalese woman to own a press agency. UNDP Goodwill Ambassador against poverty and mediator for peace negotiations in Africa. Coumba Gawlo Seck is a star of prestige, recognition and an ambassador for modern Africa.
