Fantasy Baseball Live – March 23, 2025 – 12 Noon ET Segment 1 – News and Notes 1.Jackson Jobe has made the Tigers rotation out of camp. I’ve written about this numerous times to our Patreon members. One of my logic threads is Tarik Skubal only has two more years until free agency. a.Stat line for 2025 – GS, ERA, Ks 2.Thario Estrada will miss 4 to 8 weeks with a fractured wrist after being hit by a Kumar Rocker fastball. a.Do you think the Rockies will give Adael Amador a shot? 3.Shane McClanahan was removed from Saturday’s game due to a triceps injury. That’s a tough one, as he was drafted as a top-30 starter (7 to 8th round). 4.Who will be the starting second baseman for the Red Sox to begin the season? 5.Justin Martinez agreed to a 5-year, $18 million contract with the Diamondbacks. He’s been up to 102+ this spring. a.Is he the closer in Arizona? 6.Julio Urias will be allowed to sign with any MLB team after the All-Star. He’s been suspended twice for domestic violence. Will anyone take a flyer? Would you run out and grab him in a Dynasty League if he’s available? 7.Ryan Weathers had looked promising for the Marlins this spring, but he’ll start the season on the injured list with a forearm strain. a.If he comes back healthy, what type of season do you think he can have? Segment 2 – Overreacting to Spring Training stats 1.Rhys Hoskins leads the league in home runs with six. He’s even batting .306. a.Stat line for 2025: AB, HR, RBI, BA 2.Jackson Chourio posted an odd stat line: 21 for 44 (.477), 6 SB, and 0 HRs. a.Is there anything to make of the lack of power? 3.Curtis Mead appears to have made the Rays out of camp, while Eloy Jimenez was told he won’t. He led the league with 21 hits, hitting .538 with a home run and a stolen base. a.Does he get enough at-bats to contribute to a fantasy team? 4.Bo Bichette: 19 for 49 (.388), 4 home run, and 1 SB. He’s in a walk year, but you’ve been a long-time hater. a.Are you sticking to your position, or do you think he’ll have a solid season? 5.Cody Bellinger has looked good—20 for 47 (.426) with three home runs. Yankee stadium should work for him. a.Are you buying? 6.Josh Lowe – 18 for 43 (.419), 2 home runs, 7K/6BB a.Time to get excited? 7.Cam Smith was 13 for 35 (.371) with a home run. He did strikeout 10 times. There’s a lot of love coming out of the Astros camp about Smith. a.Everyone seems impressed. What about you? 2025 statline: AB, HR, RBI, and BA 8.Spencer Schwellenbach – 18.2 IP, 2.41 ERA, 26K/2BB a.Is he ready to climb into the elite pitchers? He’s already going as the 31st pitcher off the board? 9.Clay Holmes – 19.1 IP, 0.93 ERA, 23K/9BB a.Impressive spring. A few too many walks. What are you thinking for 2025? 10.Jack Leiter – 16.2 IP, 15 hits, 19K/9BB, 3.24 ERA a.Jack Leiter or Kumar Rocker – Who do you want for 2025? Segment 3 – Waiver Wire Segment 5 – Closer Report Close…

Fantasy Baseball Live – February 9, 2025 @ 3 PM ET Segment 1 – News and Notes 1.The Mets re-upped with Pete Alonso on a two-year deal. The league has learned its lesson from hulking First Base sluggers like Alonso, and consequently, it’s become more challenging for them to land the big contract. a.Your thoughts on the deal. Are there any changes at all in where you draft him 2.Phew. Jack Flaherty managers give a sigh of relief when he re-upped with the Tigers for a two-year deal that is front-loaded with an opt-out. So, assuming he doesn’t get hurt, he’ll likely opt out. a.Will he be more of the 2024 version on the 2022-23 pitcher? 3.The Angels were at it again, signing Yoan Moncada to a one-year, $5 million contract. a.This is why I’m so critical of the Angels. This is a dumb deal to me. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy, and if it weren’t for a .406-fueled 2019 season, where he hit 25 home runs and batted.315, I’m not sure anybody would be thinking about him. Not to lead the witness, but what do you think? Am I all wet? 4.Well the Tirso Ornelas came crashing down when the Padres signed the power-couple duo of Jason Heyward and Connor Joe. Oh well. Thoughts. Segment 2 – AL West 1.Houston Astros a.Isaac Paredes 2025 stat line: HR, RBI, and BA i.Will he be a downgrade from Alex Bregman, upgrade, or about the same? b.Chas McCormack (608.80 ADP), Jake Meyers (611.36), and Taylor Trammell (750.51) are the projected starting outfield. We’ve discussed previously about how weak it is. Do you have any interest? i.Over/Under Pedro Leon of 200 ABs c.Luis Garcia had TJS in 2023 and should be a full go this spring. In his last full season in 2022, he was pretty good. His ADP is 365. Is he a sneaky add in a draft? d.Spencer Arrighetti pitched to a 5.63 ERA in the first half and a 3.18 in the second. His batting average against went from .268 to .226. Any interest. His ADP is 216.9 e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors) 2.Los Angeles Angels a.True or False. Mike Trout will win a World Series with the Angels before his career ends. i.Stat line for Trout: AB, HR, SB, BA b.Jo Adell’s ADP is 290.89 and he’s going as the 71st outfielder off the board. He hits the ball extremely hard and sprint speed in the 86th percentile. There is going to be pressure on his batting average as he doesn’t make great contact. However, if he gets playing time, isn’t there 20-20 potential here? i.Will he get the playing time? c.Yoan Moncada stat line for 2025: AB, HR, and BA d.Nolan Schanuel – Over/Under 15 home runs e.Is Kikuchi more like the Astros version in 2025 or more like the “every other” season for the Angels in 2025? i.We will look at where he’s going in drafts. f.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors) 3.Athletics a.Tyler Soderstrom was a top prospect for several years, but has yet to establish himself in the Majors. Will he this year or will Kurtz beat him to the punch? i.Nick Kurtz 2025 stat line: AB, HR, BA b.Lawrence Butler went 22 and 18 in 451 PAs last year. Over/Under 50 combined SB and HR for 2025? c.Who would you rather roster: Luis Severino (290.0) or Jeffrey Springs (239.3)? d.Will Mason Miller be on the Athletics on August 1? e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors) 4.Seattle Mariners a.In one of our Dynasty League startups, I considered drafting Victor Robles but couldn’t pull the trigger. I studied the data, and while he stole 34 bases last season, he’s not a burner with sprint speeds in the 63rd percentile. A .370 BABIP drove his .307 batting average, and given his poor exit velocity, I don’t see that sticking or much power. Am I too low on Robles? I don’t get the hype, as he's going as the 49th OF off the board. b.One of our Patreon members reminded me that we don’t talk enough about Seattle's poor hit park factors (T-Mobile). It’s last in the league. Should this give you pause at the draft table for guys like J-Rod, Raleigh, and Arozarena? c.Will Julio Rodriguez be drafted in the first round in 2026? d.Do you think the Mariners should trade one of their big starters for some offense? If so, who would you suggest? i.An ideal trading partner would be the Orioles. e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors) 5.Texas Rangers a.Evan Carter state line for 2025: AB, HR, SB, and BA i. Will he be a full-time or platoon player by mid-season? b.Adolis Garcia had a down season in 2025. Although his speed has decreased, he still hits the ball extremely hard. Do you think he’s more of a 30 to 35-home-run guy or a 25-home-run guy with pressure on his batting average? i.We will look at where he is being drafted and look at other players around him c.Do we see the break out of Wyatt Langford in 2025? i.He will be _______________ round pick in 2026. d.RosterResource lists Chris Martin as the closer in Texas. Are you buying that? e.Give me a sleeper in the organization (minor or majors)…
