Pastor Paula concludes her series on the Shepherd Psalm--Psalm 23. Each week she took a portion of the Psalm and connected it with our lives, as she explored how a Psalm about something like sheep herding, which few of us know much about, has become one of the most beloved texts in all of Scripture. This week, she focuses on the final passage--"you shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." She suggests that this isn't about waiting until we die to experience what it means to dwell with God, but that it can begin in the here and now, as we experience the presence of our Lord now. We are part of God's family and when we follow our Good Shepherd, we can find the joy that comes from that each day, even as we serve as connective tissue to others in search of that peace for their lives.
"You shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."." Psalm 23:6b
Opening; Scriptures-2:01; Message-5:29; Song "Borning Cry" 17:44; Community Connection-19:52; Closing-23:44
Scripture Texts- Psalm 27:1-5; 2 Cor. 4:16-5:7; John 14:1-3 All New Revised Standard Version
Many Thanks to Pastor Dan McKnight, the opening announcer, Kim Olstad who read the Scriptures, Camy Wenberg who sang Borning Cry and Ruth Skinner who sings the closing song.
