Most of us grow up lacking the financial education and wealth creation knowledge to achieve our financial freedom let alone thinking it's even possible for us. We grow up with a damaged relationship with money and form unhelpful, limiting beliefs such as money doesn't grow on trees. We associate money with survival and while we say we want more, often aren't seeking out the opportunities that would bring more financial abundance into our lives.

We have what is known as 'unhappy money' as we buy things we don't need by doing work that we don't like only to look like we're successful and making our way in the world. This way of living is detrimental to our long-term health, happiness, and fulfilment. It causes chronic stress, anxiety, and worry and is not what life is about.

So, what can we do about it? How can we go from having a damaged and unhelpful relationship with money to a healthy and prosperous relationship with money that helps us to thrive?

In this episode, we welcome money and happiness expert Ken Honda who shares the concept of 'happy money' and how it is possible for anyone, no matter their current financial status, to live with more ease in their relationship with money. Ken is also a best-selling self-development author in Japan, with book sales surpassing eight million copies since 2001. His latest book is called “Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace With Your Money”.
