Dance TV is extremely proud to present DJ MIX #591 with one of Detroit's finest house DJ's - Hotwaxx. From winning the Motor City DJ contest and being the first female DJ to spin at a Detroit radio station in the late 80's, Hotwaxx continues to play a major role in curating the soundtrack of our lives for several decades now. Thriving in the city that started techno, she maintains a perfect flow by tastefully blending house and techno with funk, hip hop and Motown soul. @hotwaxx For as long as there is music and those who faithfully dance, there will always be a need for the Godmother of House Music, DJ Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale. Detroit’s 1st female of house music plays dance floor bangers and orchestral melodies with live music fusions. Hotwaxx Hale has made a massive impact in the American music culture, whether it’s playing in famous theaters like the Apollo or the Fox, or legendary underground dance music clubs like ‘Studio 54,’ and ‘The Warehouse. Currently she holds residence at Spotlite Detroit, Lacasa Detroit & Marble Bar Detroit. She also has an international presence, which includes past performances in London, Ibiza, France, Mexico, Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto, and across the USA. Hotwaxx’s passion for music spills over into education for the youth and adults as well. She has taught and designed DJ & production classes with SPIN INC. at the Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME), & Detroit Students of the Arts (DSA). She is also one of the leaders in a daily broadcast on Blast Radio/Hotwaxx Twice a month she hosts a virtual show on Techno-club.net in the Orange room with Tony Humphries. Hotwaxx has also formed a live music group, Nyumba Muziki , which has performed at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit Opera House, Beacon Park, The Qline , Detroit 300 Conservancy and more. Hotwaxx remarcable production skills have led her into collaborations with artists like Eddie Fowlkes, Alton Miller, Kevin Saunderson, Marissa Guzman, Norma Jean Bell, Pirahnahead, K Hand, Diviniti Roxx, Jessica Care Moore. A new EP is expected in the summer of 2023. The Godmother's of House exceptional and openminded approach and interest in different styles of music is also one of the reasons why she continues to have a diverse, multi-aged devoted following and why she following her music passion and keeps on contributing to the worldwide music community in so many ways.
