Manage episode 336427578 series 3107411
"Mutfakta Kim Var?" podcast is delighted to present its first-ever English episode with Omer Kalderon from Tel Aviv, Israel. Omer has so much to tell with all the community engagement that he has been involved in over the years. He started his community involvement journey by serving in the IDF’s infantry Golani brigade. Later he went on shlichut to Cape Town, South Africa, for two years to work with the Jewish community and increase their engagement with Israel. Back in Israel, he founded two TEDx events, the White City and HIT. He has also been heading the Midburn community department for three years, looking to engage and inspire people with the idea of participatory culture.
In this episode, you will get the chance to hear the challenges of community buildup in the era of technology, nature behind online vs offline (or "onlife" as Omer puts it) community engagement, how Israel ended up becoming the startup nation and Omer's passionate story in general.
