On arguably (but probably not really "arguably" at all?) the worst day in franchise history, the Rockies traded perhaps their greatest player of all-time to the St. Louis Cardinals for a package of mostly anonymous prospects, a probably underwhelming big league pitcher who will be eaten alive by Coors Field, and oh by the way they shipped out up to $50M with him while speaking through the other side of their collective organizational mouth about how financial times are tough because of the pandemic and blah blah blah.
