Preface | Written and read by Bev Sellers Bev Sellars was chief of the Xat’sull (Soda Creek) First Nation in Williams Lake, British Columbia, for more than twenty years, and she now serves as a member of its Council. She earned a degree in history from the University of Victoria and a law degree from the University of British Columbia. She published They Called Me Number One in 2013 as a memoir of her childhood experience in the Indian Residential School system.
