This episode is one of Tawni's FAVORITES! It's the episode she tells any new listener to start with. We knew we had to encore the episode to share it with our new listeners!

Have you ever heard of confirmation bias? Confirmation bias is a psychology term used to help explain why we naturally favor information that confirms our preexisting beliefs or biases. We are always seeking proof that further backs up our beliefs while discounting examples that don't support our idea. We do this without even recognizing that we are doing it! For example: You may have heard that left-handed people are more creative than right-handed people. Whenever you encounter a person that is both left-handed and creative you may place greater importance of this "evidence" that supports that thought you already believe. On the other hand, when you meet a creative right-handed individual you may just discount or overlook this experience entirely.

In this episode Tawni discusses with her dear friend Shana Blackburn, many fun and interesting examples of confirmation biases and how they can really impact your life. When you look for something you are going to find it! This can be dangerous if our biases are focused on something negative. Whatever we choose to focus on you will find evidence of. Shana is a wonderful example of using positive biases to impact her life for good. She explains how she can use her personal mantra of: "I'm God's favorite", so freely and undoubtedly. It was so insightful and inspiring to hear how her positive attitude has helped her overcome very difficult situations in her life. She encourages us all to look for evidence that you too are God's favorite child! When we look for him in the details of our lives we will always find him.

"What you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you imagine your create." Budha
