18e volet de notre podcast ; on remonte cette fois ci en Scandinavie pour y rencontrer Cari Lekebusch. Fort d’une carrière de plus de quinze ans, ce touche-à-tout est certainement l’artiste suédois le plus prolifique de la décennie qui vient de s’écouler. Au cours de sa pérégrination artistique, il a toujours réussi à se renouveler et à surprendre, avec comme principaux fait d’armes, une discographie de plus de 70 disques qui pourrait en faire jalouser plus d’un, la plupart de ses releases étant sorties sur sa propre structure « H. Productions » et aussi éphémères qu’ils soient, une multitude de side projets en solo ou aux cotés d’autres pourvoyeurs de la scène techno minimale suédoise.
Le voilà désormais sur Trace A Line le temps d’un mix d’une heure, mix durant lequel Lekebusch égraine les perles sans la moindre faute de gout et nous propose un florilège de titres techno qui nous enfoncent lentement dans une intense et brutale léthargie, jusqu’à nous appesantir complètement. Un joli reflet de son univers musical et de son entourage artistique, où les titres se fondent les uns aux autres avec une très belle fluidité, sans jamais perdre de leur intensité. La sélection, à défaut d’être surprenante, se révèle être très agréable. On y retrouve tout naturellement quelques unes des prochaines sorties prévues sur H. Productions, dont notamment deux extraits de son futur album, à paraitre courant Juillet, ou encore le prochain Alexi Delano, en collaboration avec Xpansul. Plus loin dans le tracklisting, il nous invite à redécouvrir les dernières sorties de son pote Adam Beyer, qui s’entremêlent parfaitement bien aux quelques tracks du dernier LP d’Alan Fitzpatrick. Au bout du compte, on aurait préféré une sélection un peu plus éclectique et plus variée, mais on s’en contentera. Amplement même.

Here’s our 18th podcast, this time we’re heading straight up to the Northern Countries to meet Cari Lekebusch. Strong of a 15 years long career, this all-rounder surely is the most productive Swedish artist of the last decade. All the way through his artistic career, he managed to surprise the audience, and always came up with something new. With more than 70 releases which mostly came up on his own label, “H. Productions”, a load of side projects, whether ephemeral or perennial, whether solo or with some other top billings of the Swedish stage, this guy has clearly nothing to envy to others artists.
And there he is now, on Trace A Line, for a one-hour-long mix in which he drops gems all the way, without any stumble and offers us a bunch of techno anthems which get us slowly in a deep and intense lethargy, until we kindly get back to reality. A nice overview of his musical background and his artistic entourage, where the tracks smoothly melt with each other without losing an ounce of their intensity. The tracklist, even if it’s not really surprising, stays quite pleasant. We obviously found some of his forthcoming releases planned on H. Productions, including two extracts of its soon-to-be-released album (mid-July), or the next Alexi Delano featuring Xpansul. Later in the tracklisting, he invites us to discover once again the last releases of his long-time buddy Adam Beyer, perfectly mixed with some of the last Alan Fitzpatrick LP’s tracks. Maybe we’d rather liked a more eclectic selection, but this suits us, totally.
