Ep 20: Would Jesus Forgive Student Loans? with Lawrence W. Reed
Manage episode 341657241 series 3342607
In this episode I talk to Lawrence W. Reed, president emeritus of the Foundation for Economic Education, about his recent FEE article entitled ‘Jesus Would Support Student Debt Forgiveness? Not So Fast’. We discuss both the economic and Biblical problem with student loan forgiveness, which he critiqued in the article. We discuss the Biden administration’s motives for student loan forgiveness, how Time magazine misinterprets Matthew 6:14 and Leviticus 25, the mechanics of the student loan industry, and, as an added bonus, the relationship between the Chicago and Austrian schools of economics. This is a great one!
