Good food is a good mood!In this special bonus episode, Sarah, sits down with Emma Jerrott, Program Coordinator of The Good Food Bus (@goodfoodbuscb). Emma chats all about The Good Food Bus programming, their work in food security and their goals of making nutritious food more accessible and affordable to our Cape Breton communities. In simple terms, Emma tells us to think of the Bus as the "produce aisle you would find in your grocery store, but on wheels."We learn about the origin of the Good Food Bus, how the programming has evolved, the needs and issues being addressed in our communities, who can access this service, the innovation and creativity needed to adapt to challenges faced by our communities in recent times, the power of connection and community, and so much more! Currently completing a 'Fundamentals of Sustainability' course for her MEd program, Sarah was able to submit a podcast recording as her final assignment. For this project, she had to identify a 'Source of Vigour' in her local community and learn more about it. A source of vigour is defined by Niko Roorda as “opportunities that tackle complex sustainability issues”. It was an absolute pleasure to learn more about the Good Food Bus in this way and highlight their work for this final assignment. We hope you enjoy this chat!
