In this week's episode, I'm flying solo! I wanted to take a brief interlude from our usual episode structure and chat a little bit about something near & dear to my heart-- our culture. Or rather, how our cultural messaging has lead us to believe we humans are "broken" or needing "fixed." You see, as a therapist, I have seen clients come in, time and time again, believing something is inherently wrong with them because they have some symptom (anxiety, depression, eating disorder, etc.) I've even held this belief about myself before. But the more I paid attention and challenged my mindset, the more I came to realize that our culture lies beneath most of our "brokenness." Join me in this week's episode as I discuss the woes of cultural messaging, Whack-A-Mole, and the necessary reframe that will help you change and heal.
