Why one Army grunt chose law enforcement after his time in the military. Detective Kurt Dabb chose to leave the militåry after his time in the Army so he could start a family. He saw divorce happening amongst his friends and realized he didn’t want to expose his family to military life.
“I love America, I love my Country and I just wanted to serve….. It was a great time to be a cop”. ~Former Army Infantry and Retired Police Officer on becoming a cop post 09/11
He used his GI bill to attend college back home in Michigan and finished off his contract in the National Guard.
While in college he discovered his next step of becoming a police officer. Kurt was in the academy during 9/11 and explains why that was a great time to be a cop. Once he graduated and started on Patrol, seeing his uniform in a shadow and getting into the cop car was an amazing feeling.
He talks about how the loss of a brother in law and academy classmate, both in the line of duty, showed him how real death was in his career.
