Mental illness is a thing a stigma thing a taboo subject around most dinner tables in the African-American and minority communities. According to Mental Health America, 13.4 percent of Americans identify as Black, and of that statistics, roughly 16 percent which is about 7 million individuals reported suffering from mental illness. Subject Thread Podcast sat down with Jessica Reed, BC -TMH, LPC-MHSP, Ed.S a licensed psychotherapist who offers psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families in vast areas.
During the interview, we discussed what it means to say no, the importance of boundaries, healthy communication, journaling, and what steps you can start making today to seeking a better way of life.
