Like it or not, the thoughts you hold in the morning can shape your mindset for the rest of the day. A new book titled “Mindful Morning” aims to start your day with a clear mind and an open heart. The book contains many voices, but the basic message is easy to follow. Mindful Morning is designed to be a slow read: one page a day. Each page starts off with an inspirational quote, followed by a simple exercise to strengthen your peace and awareness. Join Daniel as he dives deeper in to Dr. Wrights new books and discovers how this book can be a new way for you to be mindful! David Dillard-Wright graduated from Emory University in 1999 and went on to receive the Master of Divinity degree in the Candler School of Theology, also at Emory. He served as a minister to rural Methodist congregations in Georgia while attending seminary. He studied philosophy and theology at Drew University in Madison New Jersey and eventually wrote a dissertation on French phenomenologist, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, which was published as Ark of the Possible: The Animal World in Merleau-Ponty. Other publications in academic journals followed, which concentrated on philosophy of mind, animal studies, and environmental ethics. One of his academic chapters can be found in Experiencing Animal Minds: An Anthology of Animal-Human Encounters, edited by Julie Smith and Robert Mitchell. David is currently Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina, Aiken. He lives in Augusta, Georgia with his wife, Jessica, and his three children, Atticus, Oscar, and Tallulah. You can learn more about Dr. Wright at: www.anahatachakrasatsanga.org
