This summer we have been diving into selected passages in the Gospel of John. Today we will be in John 14-16 talking through the Holy Spirit's presence in our life. If you grew up in conservative evangelicalism this can feel daunting because much of the discussion about the Spirit has been centered on what the Spirit does or does not do in our day. So out of an abundance of caution many of us rarely, if ever, think about the Spirit, pray to the Spirit, or even seek to be filled by the Spirit because we are afraid to cross some theological boundary. It is my prayer and aim this morning to help you understand and see the beauty of God the Spirit, and to help you learn to walk by the Spirit in fullness for the Glory of God.
