NEW: A video version of the show is now available on YouTube! This long-running comedy and pop culture podcast launched in October 2010. The "Swish Edition" is hosted by Scott Wallis (from his 'secret underground studio' in Sin City) and new-hire Kristin Talastas (coming to you from just outside our nation's capital). The weekly shit show features news and snarky commentary on the entertainment industry, travel, Las Vegas, marketing trends, crazy celebrities, and much more. Scott, along with the recently-retired Dale Blades, originated the show in Washington, D.C., before moving to Las Vegas in 2018. Episodes have been heard in over 144 countries, have featured hundreds of guests from all walks of life, and, once upon a time, the show reached the top 2% of Apple Podcasts' comedy list. New episodes drop every Wednesday from early-September clear through to the end of June. (Scott & Kristin take the summers off, because they like feeling like they're still in school.)

Are two people truly friends if there isn’t a lot of teasing going on? Well, Scott loves to tease Kristin, and he’s been doing it for over 30 years…but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love her. Anyway, today’s episode is called, “That What Friends Are For.” They are for teasing. So, what’s up this week? Dancing little people who also do porn…chicken and waffles are back at KFC…the not so nice history of Mother’s Day…sorry, folks, but we’ve all been pronouncing Marriott and Ikea wrong…Lady Gaga’s record-breaking Rio concert…would you pay $50 million for a couple of color blocks painted on old canvas?…is it fair to ask your friends to pony up thousands for your out-of-town, over-the-top wedding?…driverless 18-wheelers are on the roads now…the Real ID deadline has arrived…Jeremy Renner got screwed by Disney…a huge fine is handed down over an NFL telephone prank…Hetero Awesome Fest is going to happen next month…Lay’s has FOUR new flavors we’d like to try…and we have yet ANOTHER criminal pooper to tell you about. It’s all the pop culture craziness in one tasty little audio and/or video podcast for May 7, 2025, y’all. Won’t you listen, watch, subscribe, and review today? We’ll love ya forever if you do us right. And then you can go do Jeremy Renner, you know, to make him feel better for being f#cked by Disney.…
It’s getting combative during, “Don’t Carry Me Too Far Away,” our new episode for April 30, 2025. Kristin and Scott might be at odds at times this week (what else is new?)…but it’s fun nevertheless…as your hosts talk about the all too real college boy sperm races (yes, you read that right); discuss the proper way to wash jeans (even if you hate ‘em like Kristin does); the bad actor who got fired from Disney World then went into their computer systems and made some devilish changes; another 14-hour flight was ruined because the window shades couldn’t be darkened; a naked woman poops on her seat on Southwest (say what?!); new Oscar rules require Academy members to actually watch the movies they are voting on; Alaska Airlines brings back pilot trading cards passengers can ask for; the American Music Award nominees are announced; it turns out that ChatGPT uses an insane amount of electricity; Christopher Nolan is named as the writer and director of the next James Bond movie; and, lots more pop culture goodness for the week that was. Y’all listen in all the regular ways (via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, etc) or WATCH Scott and Kristin make the episode on the Swish Edition’s YouTube page.…

For April 23, Kristin and Scott bring you, “If We Weren’t All Crazy We Would Go Insane.” That’s the title of Episode 457 (thank you, Jimmy Buffett)…and isn’t that apropos of this crazy/insane world we live in right now? Anyway, this week we’re talking about Scott’s broken nose; the Whitney Houston slot machine that spit out $1.5 million bucks; Jon Hamm’s new “Your Friends and Neighbors” series on AppleTV+; a young girl attacks airline passengers with a fork; a so-called service dog attacks another passenger in-flight (on a different plane); “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is going to be a movie soon; the Goodyear Blimp and 61,467 fans visit Las Vegas for WWE’s WrestleMania 41; “Clueless” is getting another TV series reboot; the teen slasher movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is coming back, too; KFC launches fried chicken flavored toothpaste, of all things; McDonald’s is bringing back the popular Snack Warp SOMETIME before September ends; someone did a scientific test—it’s true, the 5-second rule isn’t a thing; today is the 20th anniversary of YouTube; and, Kristin and Scott don’t agree on much of anything. All of that, and more pop culture silliness for the week that was, live on tape from Las Vegas and Washington, DC. Listen to the podcast on all the leading apps and sites…and/or WATCH us make the show on the Swish Edition YouTube page. Every Wednesday. Rain or shine.…

This week, we’re trying to understand the hate for Katy Perry, Gayle King, and company’s Blue Origin flight to space; Scott has decided to bail on “The Residence” on Netflix after loving the first episode; Kristin is befuddled by the concept of mobile gyms for dogs; we’ve got the list of the crazy things left behind in Ubers last year; yet another airline passenger behaves VERY badly…and gets away with it; we wonder how often we should be changing our sheets and washing our bath towels; a golfer pees outside at The Masters; Las Vegas icon Elaine Wynn has passed away; multi-state lotteries won’t be coming to Nevada despite overwhelming demand; “Star Wars”-themed weddings are on deck for May 4th; we’ve discovered (well, not us, but other smart people) that red-colored products get the worst rap online; the 1992 “The Bodyguard” movie is getting a remake at Warner Bros.; the Ring Pop is a hell of a lot more popular than you thought; and, “Saturday Night Live” makes a rare apology over a “The White Lotus” parody. All that, and more pop culture news and views from the week that was. With Scott in Las Vegas and Kristin just outside of Washington, DC, we bring you the silliness every Wednesday. SUBSCRIBE to and ‘LIKE’ our episodes on YouTube…and/or on your favorite audio podcast apps or sites, like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and iHeartRadio. AUDIO NOTE: We are aware that Kristin's audio is a little scratchy this week. We don't know why that happened, but we are working on it. That’s why we’re calling this episode, “Video Killed the Radio Star.” Audio…video…or both. Y’all listen AND watch! This week we’re talking about the state of Nevada possibly sticking with Standard Time year round; most fake AI-generated movie trailers won’t be earning ad revenue on YouTube; Norwegian Cruise Line pulls a horrible itinerary switcharoo on the inaugural sailing of their new Aqua ship; Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC are switching to an AI generated ordering system at their drive-thrus across the U.S.; Kristin and Scott’s hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia will be featured heavily in Ken Burns’ new Revolutionary War documentary next Fall; the final “Downton Abbey” movie finally has a premiere date; we now know that Katy Perry, Gayle King, and an all-female crew will blast into space on April 14; an off-duty Southwest Airlines flight attendant could be in serious hot water over her carry-on bags; a United Airlines pilot forgot his passport, diverting a China-bound flight; big changes are coming to the Mega Millions lottery, meaning BIGGER jackpots and better odds; Kermit the Frog announced as the University of Maryland’s commencement speaker; “The Empire Strips Back” parody show is touring the U.S.; Lady Gaga announces a summer arena tour to support her new album; Trump International hotel is sued for killing a woman with its revolving front door (allegedly); we are totally digging Seth Rogan’s “The Studio” series on AppleTV+; Duke University is all up in arms about a t-shirt on HBO’s “The White Lotus;” the Trump administration will crack down on ticket scalpers (with Kid Rock’s help); 20,000+ people want Nashville’s airport to be renamed for country singer Dolly Parton; the “Coyote vs. Acme” movie WILL be distributed after all; people are freaking out about the May 7 Real ID deadline; and, much more pop culture silliness for April 2, 2025. It’s a hoot and a half, y’all.…
Our new episode is called, “Girl You Know It’s True,” for March 26, 2025. And as luck would have it, it was the SECOND time we taped it because we screwed up the first try. Yikes! So, here we go again… Scott and Kristin are talking about the New Jersey man who is suing United Airlines because he was ripped out of a lavatory with his pants and underwear down around his ankles; the sometimes-pretentious practice of naming one’s house; Scott tells the tale of how he tried to drive home with someone else’s car this past weekend; we wish Dale a happy 44th birthday this coming weekend; Kristin’s kid is planning hard for April Fool’s Day—although he doesn’t quite get it; we start our “What Would You Do?” segment with a question about an out of control family at Mandalay Bay; we correct mistakes Scott made on last week’s show about the Subway sandwich chain and his sister-in-law’s preferred steak temperature; we revisit the Netflix sound one more time because we figured out that it DOES sound like President Underwood’s ring hitting his desk in Season Two of the streamer’s “House of Cards” series; Netflix is rebooting “Little House on the Prairie;” the Amazon Echo is constantly listening to you and recording your commands then keeping said recordings in the cloud; and, one of the hosts does NOT like Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle show…and it’s not Scott. All that crap, plus lots more pop culture silliness for the week that was. Opening Music: “Air Combat” by Muza Production. Closing Music: “Rock Attitude” by Future Vision. Dale & Scott are otherwise engaged this week, far away from their microphones, so they are releasing this “Swish Rewind” episode to keep you company while they're away. Once upon a time, back in June 2012, Scott, along with former co-hosts Jason and Steve, spoke to the iconic actress and singer Lynda Carter. You know her, for sure: Lynda was the original female superhero on our television screens, starring as the title character in "Wonder Woman," that aired on ABC, then CBS, between 1975 and 1979. In this throwback segment from the podcast's early days in our nation’s capital, the guys talk to the Washington, D.C.-area resident about her pop music albums, touring the country, the fate of that infamous tight-fitting superhero costume, taking on Hollywood her way, singing with Kermit the Frog on "The Muppet Show," kayaking the Potomac River, popping up in the "The Dukes of Hazzard" and the "Super Troopers" movies, and much more. Lynda was an absolute delight that day, a real trooper, and we simply couldn't get enough of our friendly conversation with the television legend. Dale & Scott will return with a fresh new episode on February 5.…
Grab a drink and belly up to the bar, y’all, because Dale & Scott are ready to talk at ya again. This week YOU can drive the Planter’s NUTmobile…stay in a chain of college-themed hotels…watch a kickass spy movie…suck on some soup flavored candy…buy a circus-themed hotel and casino…go country at the Las Vegas Sphere…but NOT rock with the Black Eyed Peas…you can catch up with ”The Night Agent” on Netflix…bake some apples and dough for National Pie Day (not to be confused with Pi Day)…and engage in much, much more pop culture silliness. Dale’s back in the studio with Scott as they talk about Christmas being only two weeks away (how did THAT happen so fast?); Scott’s obsession with singer Benson Boone of “Beautiful Things” fame; the newish Flanker restaurant at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas has a wicked yummy pork chop and plenty of holiday cheer this month, including a full-sized Grinch on display and Christmas movie themed drinks; Hormel is going to try to revive Chi-Chi’s Mexican restaurants in 2025; McDonald’s has been all up in the news this week when they caught the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter at one of their locations in Pennsylvania…Ronald McDonald brought back the McRib (for a limited time, again) along with a half-gallon of rib sauce…and announced that the chicken Snack Wrap will return next year; the Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, George Strait concert went on for 5+ hours Saturday night, which was too long for Scott; “Saturday Night Live” alum Pete Davidson says newbies only make $3,000 an episode when they start out on the 50 year old late night show; we are loving Billy Bob Thornton in “Landman” on Paramount+ and diggin’ Colin Jost as the host of the brand new “Pop Culture Jeopardy;” it’s weird, but Mocha Mousse is Pantone’s color for 2025; we break down the rules that tell us that we can say ‘ping pong’ but not ‘pong ping’…and why; rumors are swirling again that Britney Spears could be making a Sin City return (we totally don’t believe it); and, much, much more pop culture silliness for December 11. It’s the special Thanksgiving Eve episode, y’all! Why not take Dale & Scott on the road with you on your way to grandma’s house? They’ll keep you moderately entertained for a spell as you navigate the bad weather, inevitable delays, and clueless crowds at the airport. (You know those folks who only fly once a year gum up the works like no one else. It’s maddening. Try not to scream at them since it’s a holiday week, okay? Be kind. Cuss ‘em out inside your head.) Anyway, this week the guys are talking about traditional and all-out weird Thanksgiving menu items—including a stuffing made with White Castle burgers, of all things; the wacky and weird White House tradition of pardoning turkeys; Delta Airlines’ Shake Shack offering (for the special people only); a one-of-a-kind dog friendly cruise will sail in 2025; the unbelievable, but totally true number of satellites circling our crazy planet; Scott’s obsession with Bentley’s insanely priced electric sports car; people seem to be aging more slowly in the 21st century—just take a look at the ages of “The Golden Girls” during their TV run; and, much more pop culture tidbits you totally don’t need to know or worry about. But that’s why the show is so fun, dontcha know. The SWISH EDITION is like that inevitable junk drawer in your kitchen—you’ll never know what you’ll find inside each week. This week Dale & Scott are talking about Betty White’s new USPS stamp; ask who will win the battle between “Gladiator II” and “Wicked” this weekend (the Wickednator, anyone?); Peter Dinklage is NOT dead despite a viral TikTok video; Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, and Netflix break records last Friday night; John Krasinski is named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024; the Piña Colada turns 70; Froot Loops are all over the news; 130 hamsters escape on a commercial airplane; Oakland’s airport doesn’t get to change their name; Conan O’Brien will host next March’s Oscar telecast; pickle fries are a thing at Burger King; Taco Bell to launch chicken nuggets (like everyone else); talk about unlikely celebrity friends—Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is hanging out and making music with rapper T-Pain; conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is suing to block The Onion from buying his InfoWars brand; Barilla is launching snowflake shaped pasta for the holidays; and, if you need a gift idea, KFC has a Bucket of Chicken and a Buttery Biscuit candle you can buy. Your good ol’ boy cowpokes, Dale & Scott, are back in the saddle with a silly new episode they’re calling, Hootin’ Leads to Hollerin’. It’s ready for your ears, y’all…if you’re not the fainting type. This week’s show DOES NOT include any politics (everyone and their mother has been doing that for the last week)…but we do have Costco’s expensive butter mistake; Mattel accidentally(?) advertises porn to kids; the iconic voice behind AOL’s mail has died; idiots will buy anything on vacation, like a can of Italian air; a new Hollywood auction expects to bring in big bucks from a most-important Storm Trooper head; Campbell’s new Thanksgiving side candles are a thing nobody asked for; People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive is crowned; will Mike Tyson knock Jake Paul’s block off?; jaywalking is now legal in New York City no matter what color you are; a brilliant business man sells 999 fake Warhols; the Rockefeller Christmas tree has already been delivered; and, much more pop culture craziness. Halloween is almost here, y’all! And since it’s the spookiest week of the year (or is that NEXT week, because of what’s happening on November 5th here in the States?), so this episode is titled, “Minced Deer Ankles Mixed with Raccoon Ass.” You’ll have to listen to the show to find out where THAT delectable title came from. Hosts FrankenDale and DracuScott are in their secret underground haunted lair talking about monsters who don’t return their shopping carts; naive lottery winners who think they can retire on $400K; the passing of Tootsie’s Teri Garr and The Love Boat’s Jack Jones; this year’s list of the top baby names; the honest to goodness Beetlejuice house is available for an overnight stay through AirBnB (did you know it’s located in New Jersey?!); someone disturbingly creative taste-tested the new-ish Chicken Big Mac; Chilean Sea Bass crackers are a thing for awhile; the coolest sports bar in the U.S. just so happens to be in Dallas; tons of people are suing the airlines for the coldest, deadliest, and dumbest reasons; and, lots more scarily-silly pop culture news and views for this Halloween week. Download, stream, and subscribe to SWISH EDITION pop culture and comedy episodes at swishedition.com; Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartRadio, and almost everywhere else you get your audio podcasts. Dale & Scott are asking, “Is It Real…Or Is It Memorex?” on this week’s all-new episode. That’s A.I. they’re talking about and how it’s already affecting everything we do…everywhere. And it ain’t going away. Plus, all the crazy Thanksgiving products you didn’t know you needed; Doritos is on a collaboration kick; Lay’s wants you to come up with their next new flavor combination; shrinkflation is a thing but some companies are retreating; you can make a major DIP at Burger King (more like a bath); cancelling subscription just got a lot easier; a flying DeLorean is coming to the high seas; are sitcoms dead on arrival?; MGM and Marriott team up for a second go at a W Las Vegas; and…well…that’s enough.
