Artificial intelligence is evolving at an unprecedented pace—what does that mean for the future of technology, venture capital, business, and even our understanding of ourselves? Award-winning journalist and writer Anil Ananthaswamy joins us for our latest episode to discuss his latest book Why Machines Learn: The Elegant Math Behind Modern AI . Anil helps us explore the journey and many breakthroughs that have propelled machine learning from simple perceptrons to the sophisticated algorithms shaping today’s AI revolution, powering GPT and other models. The discussion aims to demystify some of the underlying math that powers modern machine learning to help everyone grasp this technology impacting our lives, even if your last math class was in high school. Anil walks us through the power of scaling laws, the shift from training to inference optimization, and the debate among AI’s pioneers about the road to AGI—should we be concerned, or are we still missing key pieces of the puzzle? The conversation also delves into AI’s philosophical implications—could understanding how machines learn help us better understand ourselves? And what challenges remain before AI systems can truly operate with agency? If you enjoy this episode, please subscribe and leave us a review on your favorite podcast platform. Welcome to season two of I Know I Sound Crazy! I'm back from my sabbatical and feeling better than ever. Join me, your host, Ashelyn Galloway, and your sometimes host, Nicole Self, as we dive deeper into our journey of deconstructing faith. We’re back to yap about our past as devoted Christians and what that means for our beliefs today. We touch on the many inconsistencies we're still finding across the religion, the No True Scotsman fallacy, and the particularly fascinating phenomenon of virgin births across cultures (Spoiler: Jesus is not the only religious figure to be born of a virgin birth. Who knew?). Nicole also speaks candidly about the other side of grief, two years out from tragedy, which we hope will resonate with anyone seeking solace and understanding. Whether you’re questioning your own beliefs, or just curious about the deconstruction process, this episode is for you. So say a prayer, or light your sage, and join us for a good yap session. Welcome back!!…

Two besties who got caught innocently kissing at a concert, or a secret relationship covered up by the media's (unfair) narrative of Taylor being boy crazy? If we're allowed to do all this speculation about Jake and that damn scarf, why can't I ask the hard questions? Like who is Dress really about? This Kaylor deep dive features Jacob Street; my bestie, my very first podcast guest, and an expert on the gays. Are you ready for it?…

Back at it again with the one and only Jacob Street! Ya'll like him too much and it's giving him a big head. We start with an update on the Liberty University scandal, and add more commentary, because apparently after 3 full episodes on it, we still have more to say. We give some life updates and manifestation inspiration, as well as a much needed hot take, and then we crack open the White Claws and get into our Midnights review. Basically, I will stop believing she loved Karlie when she stops writing songs that imply it. Also, justice for Lana.…

Whenever I need to talk spirituality, I call my friend Nicole. She joins me on the podcast this week, 9ish months after our last deconstruction episode, to discuss life and death, the possibility of reincarnation, and what death and fear of god look like being on the other side of a tragedy. It's a deeply personal and vulnerable episode, so this one goes out to all the enneagram 4 girls (and boys).…

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts...." -William Shakespeare You know how we've all been having a collective awakening for the last 3 years? Yeah, that isn't an accident. Once you realize most of what we see is scripted and/or fake, it really helps you chill the fuck out. The matrix is finally falling. We aren't falling with it. Def my craziest episode yet, but you know, that's kinda my whole vibe.…

Hello and welcome back! Today is a more light hearted episode, as I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say I have Britney fatigue. Instead, I tell you some conspiracy theories that I don't believe for a change, I call out T Swift for some things that weren't handled well, we have a brief pop culture recap and a pop culture prediction, and then we get into my very favorite topic: manifestation. Some of ya'll need a pep talk. That's where I come in. Suspend your disbelief and get ready to consciously create your reality.…

I Know I Sound Crazy

The long awaited episode on 90's princess and dancing queen, Ms. Britney Jean Spears. I'm not going to waste your time covering topics that are discussed in the documentaries and tv specials made about her. You already know about her parents and her sister. You already know about her conservatorship. All I'm interested in talking about is the same thing I've been talking incessantly about for the last two years: Britney isn't free.…

I Know I Sound Crazy

We pick up back at the hospital in August 1997, where Diana is declared dead around 4 am. Immediately, the decisions made surrounding her death don't make any sense. Why was evidence destroyed? Why were the doctors who embalmed her body without proper documentation not held accountable? Why does no one ever talk about the survivor of the crash? I also briefly touch on Stranger Things going full blown horror genre, Pete Davidson and Kim K being a (likely) PR couple, and HAYLEY KIYOKO AND BECCA TILLEY BEING A COUPLE. Also, Dianna Agron came out. Told you. Use my code ASHELYN15 at MadisonandMallory.com to get 15% of regular priced items! Follow the link here: https://madisonandmallory.com?aff=478…

I Know I Sound Crazy

This episode dives into the mystery surrounding the deaths of Princess Diana, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. They died in August of 1997 when their car collided with the 13th pillar in the Alma Tunnel in Paris. 25 years later, there are still no answers and little explanation for their deaths. The more you dig, the more suspicious the circumstances become. This is part 1, and the evidence only becomes more compelling. In this episode, I also inform you that 1989 is likely next and will have some vault songs about Karlie, we get an Amanda Bynes update, and a pop culture prediction. I do not cry or talk about God anywhere in this episode LOL. Use my code ASHELYN15 at MadisonandMallory.com to get 15% of regular priced items! In an episode which I'm certain is going to land me at the center of a prayer chain for my salvation, my friend Nicole and I spend an hour and a half poking holes in fundamental Christian beliefs, specifically those that are found in the first couple chapters of the Old Testament. It leaves Nicole and I wondering if the Bible is talking about two different gods, which is arguably my biggest conspiracy yet. How can the Creator be so kind and loving in the New Testament, but so cruel and hateful in the Old Testament? It doesn't make sense. And we don't have answers, but we are certain of one thing: God does not equal fear. And the Old Testament is filled to the brim with it. Come have a controversial chat with us, as we talk Zodiac signs, purity culture, and how neither of us care to serve a god who needs anger management classes. If you're close in your walk with God, this might not be the episode for you. Because as we said, we are two really bad Christians.…

The long awaited final chapter of the Liberty University scandal is here. Jacob is back for the last installment of the series, where we talk about growing up devout Christians, being told as literal children that we need to be willing to die for our faith, and an overwhelming feeling of guilt that seems to always transcend the whole point of the Gospel. We also get vulnerable about the church's views on being LGBTQ, and all the religious trauma that comes along with it. We finally hear about the North Greenville University scandal, we talk about where Liberty University is currently standing in the wake of this mess, and share all our final thoughts. This conclusion episode is almost two hours long, and also the first time I've ever cried on a podcast. Probably won't be the last.…

Jacob and I are back, yet again, to tell the rest of the Liberty University Scandal. We start out with our feelings on how being the single friend in the group has a direct correlation with the pull out couch at the vacation home, and then dive into the story that has us all shook. I close some gaps in the messy timeline, and tell how the affair that was meant to stay a secret forever became a huge scandal over night. Jacob and I focus on a lot of the inconsistencies and the discrepancies between both versions that are being told. Bottom line: someone here is lying. Who do you think is telling the truth? This week's episode is candid, hilarious, equal parts heartbreaking and yet not surprising at all, and it's all 100% true. Allegedly.…
