Duane J. Edwards is a first year Assistant Principal at Bladensburg Elementary School. Prior to this position he has served in the capacity of Instructional Lead Teacher (Bladensburg Elementary), Professional School Counselor (Longfields Elementary and John Eager Howard Elementary), and 10th grade English teacher (Somerset County Public Schools). Mr. Edwards is a graduate of The University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he received both his Bachelor's (English Education) and Masters (Guidance and Counseling Education) Degrees. He received his CAGS in Education Administration and Policy from Howard University. Currently, Mr. Edwards is working on his Ed.D in Education Leadership at the American College of Education. Tiffawny Green is a native Washingtonian. A graduate of District of Columbia Public Schools, she continued her post-secondary education in her hometown earning both her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Graduate degree in Education (with a focus in Special Education) from The George Washington University. Ms. Green began her career in education in 1999 as a career changer in Prince George’s County’s first cohort of Resident Teachers. Her 19 years in the field of education consist of 2 years teaching Business Education, 5 years as a special education teacher, and 12 years in Special Education Leadership. Assistant Principal at Chesapeake Math & IT Academy - South, Public Charter School is her most recent appointment. Ms. Green is married with six children and two grandchildren. Dr. Mykia Olive Cadet proudly serves as the newest Assistant Principal at Ernest Everett Just Middle School. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. She began her career as a high school English instructor in Maryland. After teaching for three years, she earned the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards’ National Board Certification in Adult/Young Adult English Language Arts. Within the same year, the National Society of High School Scholars, an organization founded and chaired by the Nobel family, recognized Dr. Cadet as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction. While serving as an English teacher, University of Maryland Mentor Teacher, National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) Candidate Mentor, and NBCT Candidate Support Provider, Dr. Cadet coordinated and oversaw the instructional, behavioral, and attendance trends of over 800 students in a Ninth Grade Academy program.…
Michael Grant is the assistant principal at Gladys Noon Spellman Elementary School. Before joining Gladys Noon Spellman, Mr. Grant began his educational career in Prince George’s County Public Schools as a 3rd grade teacher at Concord Elementary. In addition to PGCPS, Mr. Grant spent 6 years serving students and families as a teacher and family involvement coordinator in Houston, Texas. In 2014, Mr. Grant returned to PGCPS where he taught 6th grade, and served as a math instructional lead teacher before being named assistant principal. Mr. Grant has been involved in education for over 17 years. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Maryland, College Park. Brittany Pace Walker is a native of Maryland and a proud graduate of Prince George’s County Public Schools. Laneka Allison is beginning her 20th year as an educator. As a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools, she takes great pride in her profession and understands the importance of education and the power of human connection and building relationships. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Bowie State University and a Master’s of Education from George Washington University. She has worked in varied populations and has served in many roles; school and district based. ?A native Washingtonian, Mr. Flanagan has spent the last 23 years serving the students of Prince George’s County, MD. He began his career as a Paraprofessional in 1995. In 1996, he became a 6th Grade Teacher at Templeton ES, where he remained until 2004. From Templeton, Mr. Flanagan joined the staff at Mary Harris “Mother” Jones ES as a Technology Resource Teacher, and eventually School Testing Coordinator. In the midst of these positions, Mr. Flanagan has held many leadership roles. ? Mr. Flanagan is also an accomplished musician.? His compositions have been featured on stage and screen. One of his proudest moments was the performance of several of his compositions and the John F. Kennedy Center. Cherita Hogan has always had a desire for education and training. During her 15 years as a secondary educator she has served as a special education teacher, honors RELA teacher, department chairperson, curriculum writer, program coordinator, Mentor Teacher, and professional development and corporate trainer for a Maryland school system. Ms. Hogan enjoys working with youth on all levels, and began working with nonprofit organizations in various roles including Director, President, and Chief Information Officer. Ms. Marquita A. Kennedy is a 1997,graduate from the Academy of Law Strand at Largo Senior High School in Prince George’s County, MD. She went on to attend Morgan State University with a major in Political Science. She transferred after one semester, to the University of MD at College Park where she obtained her Bachelor's in Criminology & Criminal Justice in 2001. While attending the University of MD at College Park, she became the first black female seasonal police officer with the Ocean City Police Department. She has served as a classroom teacher at Fort Foote Elementary School, Carmody Hills Elementary School, Lake Arbor Elementary School. In 2009, Marquita went on to earn her Master's degree in Special Education from Bowie State University. With more than a decade of experience as an educator and teacher leader, Desiree is overjoyed to serve as Assistant Principal of Seat Pleasant Elementary. A proud product of Prince George’s County Public Schools, Mrs. Early attended Glenarden Woods Elementary, Walker Mill Middle, and Laurel High School. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies, in Music Education, at Hampton University. Dr. Shelita Campbell is a native Washingtonian, who received her grade school education from both District of Columbia Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools. She is a proud graduate of Crossland High School class of 1998! Thereafter, she immediately obtained her undergraduate Visual and Performing Arts/Dance degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Shortly after obtaining her undergraduate degree, she found herself returning to her first love, working with children, through substitute teaching. Dr. Campbell quickly obtained her teaching certificate in order to continue her work in the Prince George’s County Public School system. After 10 years in the classroom, she was promoted to a district-wide Mentor Teacher with the Office of Talent Development.
